It is important to understand that these 4 living creatures are cherubims or angels. Each of these creatures or cherubins declares a different part of the testimony of Christ. Each of these creatures represent an aspect of Christ’s life. Revelation after all is the revealing of Jesus the Lord. By studying these cherubims we can better understand the one they gloryfy day and night and better understand the God we serve. Each Living creature testifies to the glory of Christ. 1. LIKE A LION v.7 The lion symbolizes the kingship of Christ, as the Gospel of Matthew also does.
2. LIKE A CALF v.7 "and the second, Living creature, was like a calf." The Ox represents servitude, and the book of Mark presents Jesus as the servant.
3. LIKE A MAN v.7 "and the third living creature had a face as a man." The living creature with the face of a man declares the humanity of Christ. The Gospel of Luke presents the humanity of Jesus.
4. LIKE AN EAGLE. v.7 The fourth living creature was "like a flying EAGLE".
This living creature glorifies CHRIST in all his DEITY. The Apostle John in his Gospel presents JESUS CHRIST as the SON OF GOD.
