Yahweh or the God of Israel was a unique savior, but in what aspect? It was not to save them from their earthly problems but the greater purpose was to save them from the exile - whether the Egyptian exile (Exodus 19:5-6) or the Babylonian exile (Isaiah 43) - to save them out from the foreign land and from a foreign power!
Hear out from the above exegesis of 1 Peter 2:9-10 on the similar calling we have as a chosen generation, a peculiar people, brought out from an exile of Gentilic ways, called to live here on earth as strangers and pilgrims till the appearance of Christ. Moreover, how we are to live among the Gentiles to show forth the glory and praises of our Savior, not by proclamation merely through praises by our words or songs, even more through our lifestyle and conduct on this foreign land till the manifestation of the promised Kingdom.
