It is very important for us to understand that the Bible speaks of both the blessings of marriage and the difficulties of marriage. The Bible is extremely balanced. And we need to be Biblically balanced. Why? If we are not careful, we can expect too much from marriage and it can destroy us. Marriage is a good gift from God. But the moment we turn marriage into the ultimate gift, marriage will destroy us. For you singles, falling in love is great. God is the one who wired you to fall in love. But the moment you make him or her your ultimate satisfaction, it will destroy you. And in my pastoral ministry, I have seen nothing that can destroy a person’s life like love.
