Building the house of the Lord is a metaphor of building the church
A call to build the house of the Lord.
Haggai 1:13–14 NIV “I am with you,” declares the LORD. 14 So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, and the spirit of Joshua, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God,
Matthew 16:18 NIV And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
The promised glory of the new house.
Haggai 2:3-5 NIV ‘Who of you is left who saw this house in its former glory? 4 But now be strong, O Zerubbabel. ‘Be strong, O Joshua. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ declares the LORD, ‘and work. For I am with you,’ declares the LORD Almighty. 5 ‘This is what I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt. And my Spirit remains among you. Do not fear.’
Isaiah 41:10 KJV Fear thou not; for I am with thee: Be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; Yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
The best is yet to come.
Haggai 2:9 ‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the LORD Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”
Jeremiah 33:3 KJV Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
John 15:7 KJV If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
John 15:16 KJV Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
