WORSHIPPING WHEN ABSENT IN BODY BUT TOGETHER IN SPIRIT

[1] Opening Reading | REVELATION 7:9-17 | In the last 10 days we’ve been confronted again with the horrific wickedness of racism. Here we get a glimpse into the diverse unity of heaven: people from every nation, tribe, and language, singing praise to Jesus, the Lamb of God. In Him we’re saved, sheltered, satisfied by the Lamb who’s also a Shepherd. And so today, we get to join in the singing of heaven…

[2] Song ONE | HERE IS LOVE VAST AS THE OCEAN

[3] Prayer | Lord, Your Word that we’re about to read is living and active, and it knows even the thoughts and intentions of our hearts. As God you see everything; even our secret sins are in the light of your presence. So please keep us from the foolishness of trying to deceive you, from our dishonesty of trying to deceive others, and from the danger of being self-deceived. Help us to understand You and ourselves rightly, and so show us our need of Jesus. In His name we pray, amen.

[4] Reading & Sermon | ACTS 4:32 – 5:11

In response to God’s Word we’ll sing of our need to have hearts that fear God, and eyes that are captivated by Jesus.

[5] Song TWO | VOICES

[6] Song THREE | TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS

[7] Reading | PSALM 139

[8] Prayer | Take some time to pray for the family and community of George Floyd, for peace and justice for victims of racism, and for reconciliation and unity in and through churches around the world [to help our children understand there’s a video-reading of the book ‘God’s Very Good Idea’ on the playlist].

[9] Song FOUR | GIVE ME JESUS

[10] Song FIVE | MY WORTH IS NOT IN WHAT I OWN

[11] Benediction | ROMANS 15:5-6 | ‘May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.’
