*Public Confession of Sin
Our Father, you are the mighty God and Lord of hosts whose glory fills the universe! Worthy art Thou to receive honor and praise, for you created all things and by your will they exist and were established. We have sinned and done what is evil in your sight, so now before your righteous throne we confess our guilt. You have called us to live in faith and freedom, but we have carried on with distrust under false limitations. You have called us to be lights of the world, but too often we have refused to shine because of fear in the presence of others. You have called us to reach out to one another in love, but through careless insensitivity we have withdrawn into ourselves for protection. You have called us to live with abandon in trusting Christ, but we have sought to survive with anxious self-preservation. We know our transgressions, and our sin is ever before us. Please forgive us for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

*Confession of Faith: The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;**
The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
** i.e. his being buried, and continuing in the state of the dead, and under the power of death till the third day.
