So this seems to be different than what Paul describes in Galatians 5 speaking of walking in the Spirit. There the meaning is more of a continual walk denying yourself and your flesh. An ongoing day to day process. Here in Revelation the thought is that John was in a specific position of time or state in the spirit, where the Holy Spirit takes him out of the natural realm of time and into the supernatural realm giving him these visions of these spiritual things. A science fiction movie would describe this as a spiritual time machine. John also says it was the Lord’s Day. Notice he didn’t say the Sabbath. The Lord’s Day was probably the first day of the week, or Sunday. All of the gospels state that on the first day of the week Jesus had risen. It was also on the same day that Jesus appeared to the disciples.
