Dr. Andy Woods takes us to Colossians 2:12, that is sometimes being used as a proof text for "salvation by water baptism". But when studied closely in context, this is not dealing with water baptism at all. The word baptism is not always referring to water baptism, as a parallel passage in 1 Cor. 12:13 explains rather well. It is talking about "spiritual baptism", which is inherent of our salvation by grace through faith. Being baptized in water is simply an outward projection of an inward change.

Dr. Woods continues with a short allusion to another "proof text" that some christians tend to use, being 1 Peter 3:20-21. He concludes that the word 'save' here does not always mean the same thing in the NT every time it is used and points to the earlier sermon he has given on this subject.
