This video will focus on why the phrase "sons of God" in
Job 1:6 and
Job 2:1 most likely is referring to godly men and not angels as some have proposed. When we look at the context of
Job 1:3 being the greatest of all the "men of the east" and recognize that the Hebrew word for "men" is the same Hebrew word translated as "sons" in
Job 1:6 and
2:1, we can then see how there is a differentiation being made from the sons of the east and the sons of God (godly men). This goes right along with the differentiation made in
Genesis 6 between the sons of God taking wives from the daughters of men (those outside of the godly lineage). When we understand that Satan was the accuser of the brethren during the time of Job according to
Revelation 12:10, we can then understand how this is referring to the godly men of that time, including Job and his sons, that presented themselves before God in worship and counsel and Satan comes and accuses Job and his sons before God. Join me in this short video as we discuss these important points to ponder.
