TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL:
Now before we get to the Lord’s prayer in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus first of all teaches us how not to pray. Yesterday, don’t be like the hypocrites. Today, don’t be like the babblers.
Jesus says in Matthew 6, verses 7 to 8:
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like Gentiles, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:7-8
Now, we might wonder to ourselves, if God already knows what I need, what’s the point of asking him for it?
