PASSAGEMatthew 5:13-16

QUESTIONSQ1. Where has God placed you at the moment that he’s asking you to make a difference?

Q2. Which of these images above best relate to what he’s asked you to be in those places?

Q3. Discuss some of the tensions and challenges of being salt and light - ie the challenge of bringing both grace and truth to a situation, the challenge of challenging each other whilst living together in community.

"Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt among yourselves, and be at peace with each other." - Mark 9:49-50

Q4. The warnings of this passage are against being ’diluted’ and being ‘dimmed’. For you where are the areas that these are a challenge for you?

Q5. Verses 16 says: ‘in the same way, let your light shine before others’ what do you think this means and what does it look like for you at the moment?

READING“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
