Mark 10:29–30 (ESV):
29 Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.
17-Rom.8.18" class="scriptRef">Romans 8:17–18 (NLT): 1
7 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. 18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
#The_Place_of_Suffering_in_the_life_of_a_believer
1. Faith is purified in us like gold as the refiner's fire (Malachi 3:3)
2. God uses persecution to advance the Gospel and grow His Kingdom (Acts ????
3. God changes the hearts of persecutors for His glory (Acts 9:1-19)
4. It gives us the right perspective of our calling (Rom 8:17-19)
#Perspective:
“It is the capacity to view things in their true relations or relative importance.”
Do we see things as they really are and as important as they truly are?
By keeping our vision heavenward, we can find great consolation every day in knowing God will make all things new, wipe away every tear, and even vindicate and validate all our suffering and pain.
However great is the trouble we’ve been through, a heavenly perspective reminds us that God will compensate us much more greatly in the future, which gives us tremendous joy in the present.
