Psalms 135:6-7 (ESV)
6 Whatever the LORD pleases, he does, in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps.

It is very important for us as believers to have a biblical understanding of suffering because the enemy of our souls uses trials to try to devour Christians
The sovereignty of God reveals to us that God has eternal dominion and He is using our trials to perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish our faith. Without that understanding of God’s sovereignty over trials, a believers option will be:
1. Satan has equal or greater power than God (Dualism)
2. God does not concern Himself with the things that happen to us (Deism).
3. God feels bad about your trials, but He doesn’t know or control the future (Open Theism)

All these views are attempts to get God “off the hook” for bad things that happen. But they’re heretical because they deny who God is as revealed in His Word.
