You are set free from your ailment
1. Do you have any sickness from which you think it is impossible to be healed?

2. A woman in the synagogue
What was Jesus doing in a synagogue? What day was it?
=on the Sabbath
What physical sickness did a woman have? 13:11
=bent over and could not fully straighten herself
How long did she have this crippling condition? 13:11
=18 years
What difficulties do you think she might have had?
a. physically
b. spiritually: dark, depressed
c. Even though she was disabled for eighteen years, what did she continue?
=worshiping God
=18 years, she came to worship

3. What caused her the disability? 13:11, 16
=Satan
Do you believe that an evil spirit can cause a physical and spiritual illness?
Mt. 9:32,33 demon possessed, a person can’t speak
Mt. 17:18 Jesus rebuked a demon, a boy was cured from epilepsy

=come over
When Jesus saw her, what did Jesus ask her? 13:12
=come over and said to her, “Woman, you are free from your infirmity.”

What does it mean that ‘you are set free’?
=power of God
Why is Jesus the only one who can free us when we are bound by Satan’s power? Mt.28:18

=immediately she straightened up and praised God
When does worship become powerful and joyful?
=when Jesus heals us, when Jesus set free us from our sins

=there are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath
