Try hard to be reconciled to him on the way
1. What is Jesus eager to do on the earth? 12:49
-casting fire on the earth
Has the fire started when Jesus said this? 12:49
-not yet
When will the fire start? 12:50
-after his baptism
What is the baptism that Jesus has to be baptized with? 12:50
-crucifixion
How does Jesus feel about the coming baptism? 12:50
-how great is my distress
Why is Jesus the only Savior? Isaiah 53:5,6
-5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed

2. Peace or division?
-division
Did Jesus come on earth for peace or division?
Luke 2:14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased”
Luke 12:51 Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.
-In sinner’s heart, there is no peace, but when we are divided from sin, we receive peace from Jesus
-By cross and death, we can reach life from death and darkness

3. Who are in this family of five? 12:52,53
-Father, mother, son, daughter-in-law and daughter
What are the two opposing factors within the family? 12:52
-believing and unbelieving
What is the most important relationship in human world?
-family
-our relationship to our Lord God becomes more important
You want to come to Bible study but your mom says ‘No”. What would you do?
-
What kind of persecutions do you expect from unbelieving family members?
-loosing family, job, money, even death and so on
What is the result of choosing Jesus?
-eternal life
-salvation to the rest of the family
What is the result of choosing unbelieving family?
-which side do you choose?
-there is no middle ground

4. Interpreting the times. You don’t have to be a prophet to tell the times.
A cloud rises from the west. How do people interpret it? 12:54
-from the sea, there will be a shower
-with fact, people can predict near future
The south wind blows. How do people interpret it? 12:55
-from desert
Jesus heals the sick, drives out demons, and preaches the kingdom of God. How do they interpret it?
-why do you not know how to interpret the present time?
Why can’t people tell the time that the kingdom of God has come among them?
-you hypocrites; double standards
-they see miracles and healings, but they didn’t believe Jesus.
-they couldn’t interpret the kingdom of God has come.
-they are blind to see
What do you see from our present times? How do you interpret it?
-hurricane, unusual weather, demonic music, gay marriage
-we live in end time
-Jesus is coming very soon

5. Make a right judgment for yourself.
What is your situation? 12:58
-As you go with your accuser before the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way
What judgment will you face if you go through the trial? 12:58
-in prison
When is the window of time to avoid a judgment against you? 12:58
-before standing to the judge
-make an effort to settle with him on the way
When will you be too late?
-before opening the door to the judge
What is your option right now?
-option one: reconciliation
-option two: going to the court
What does Jesus say to you to do? 12:58b
-try hard to settle out of the court
Once thrown into prison, do you have a chance to get out? 12:59
-you will never get out until you have paid the very last penny
-we can reconcile with God
What has God offered you to settle your debts of sins?
-Jesus received our punishment
-accepting or not
Are you willing to settle now by accepting the forgiveness of Jesus?
-yes
Or will you go to the judgment seat of God?
-no
-Jesus received the punishment from all our sins
-settle down: no guilty feeling
-No delay for accepting Jesus
