Sometimes when we have a spiritual encounter, our impulse is to box it up so others can experience the same thing. Only when we do this, we're not really letting them encounter God but simply our understanding of God.

On this week's episode of The Word Made Fresh, join Rev. Jim Keat, Riverside's Digital Minister, and his cat Whitman, as they look at Matthew 17:1-9 and explore how Peter's impulse to build shelters for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah continues to happen in our world today.

***DISCUSSION QUESTIONS***
1. Where have you seen people try to create a formula for God or capture God or build a structure around a spiritual encounter?
2. In your own life, where have you had a spiritual experience and then what did you do? What is your response to discovering the divine in the daily, the Christ in the common, and the holy ground under every step?
