There’s something sacred about recognizing the voice of someone you love—and trusting it without hesitation. On a trip to Israel, I watched four shepherds gather with hundreds of sheep. When it was time to leave, each shepherd gave his call, and not one sheep was confused. Every single one followed its own shepherd because they knew his voice. That’s the kind of recognition and obedience Jesus described in John 10. He said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” What a powerful reminder that we don’t serve a distant God—we follow a Shepherd who calls us by name.

But hearing His voice takes intention. You won’t know the Shepherd’s voice if you don’t spend time with Him. We train our ear to heaven by reading His Word, praying in faith, and walking in obedience. God’s voice brings peace in chaos, direction in confusion, and victory in trouble. If you're waiting for an answer, keep doing the last thing He told you to do. Stay near. Keep listening. “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:6). His voice still speaks—will you follow?
