I am so grateful to be able to share this message with the St. Andrew's Streetsville church family on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Jesus visits the house of Martha and Mary. Martha diligently prepares the meal. However, Mary, her sister, does not help her. Instead, Mary sits down and listens to Jesus. ‘Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!’ (Luke 10:40 NIV) Jesus corrects Martha by saying that she is worried and upset about many things. Mary has chosen what is better (Luke 10: 42) What does Jesus mean by this? Is Jesus saying that it is more important to sit down and listen to him? How does Jesus value Martha's work in the kitchen?
