The Bible encourages us to exercise the patience that God blesses us with. Hebrews 6:12

Hebrews 6:9-15 But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you, and things that accompany salvation, though we are speaking in this way. 10For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints. 11And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, 12so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU." 15And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.

You sometimes get discouraged and lose patience over some of the things that you go through in life. Sometimes you think that things should certainly be much easier since you are saved but the reality is that life does not always reflect what we perceive as being a smooth path.

One of the points here is a reminder that even Abraham, a great man of faith, had to wait patiently for the fulfillment of God's promise.

If Abraham was able to do it without benefit of the indwelling Holy Spirit then certainly it will be much easier for you to be patient as you go through this life.
