Unit 3 – Radical Faith

What should I do when I recognize spiritual compromise in my life?
1) Evaluate What Others Demand (Dan. 1:3-5)
a. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. ~ John 15:7
b. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: ~ John 15:26
c. Think STAR.
2) Act Boldly on Principle (Dan. 1:8-10)
a. Daniel acted boldly but also tactfully.
b. Purpose in your heart; pray for wisdom; act or communicate.
c. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. ~ James 1:5
d. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: ~ Proverbs 1:11
e. Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. ~ Romans 16:17
f. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge. ~ Proverbs 14:7
3) Be Prepared for Tests (Dan. 1:12-15)
a. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: ~ I Peter 1:6-7
4) Trust God for Wisdom (Dan. 1:17-19)
a. Notice that Daniel and friends did not withdraw from culture. Rather, they lived amid the culture and served the king with diligence and integrity. Their commitment to the Lord had not changed.
b. Separate, but not isolated:
i. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, ~ II Cor. 6:17-18a
