Morning Bible and Coffee
Hello, this is Erin from Sanctuary Family Farms. Today’s scripture comes from Romans four, 18 through 20, which describes Abraham after being promised, by God, to be the father of many. The scripture says,
“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, ‘So shall thy seed be.’ And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about a hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”
The part of these verses that stands out to me is, “Who against hope believed in hope.” Abraham had no logical reason to believe that he and Sarah would have a child, but Abraham held on to the promise of God. Abraham was faithful and trusted in God, and God fulfilled his promise. Abraham and Sarah had a son named Isaac.
What parts of our lives can we “against hope believe in hope?” God has promised us that he will be our friend, that He will guide us, and that He will work everything in our lives for good. And those are just a few of His promises. So, no matter how hopeless our situation may seem, we have the ability to choose to be like Abraham and trust that God will fulfill His promises.
Have a blessed day in the Lord and look up. God is fulfilling His promises to you as we speak.
