Paul's longheld desire to go to Rome was now fulfilled. God's rich, varied and many promises were for him, and are for us, a spur to faithfulness, to active service and to labour. They are never to be an excuse for slackness and fear. Paul was wonderfully rewarded for his faith with peace and joy, as well as liberty and Gospel opportunities.
