This is the valley of the shadow of death; just like that dry ground between the walls of water. At any time the waters could come down. At any time Pharaoh could come down. You’re fish in the barrel. But we’ve heard a word from the Lord first. Our whole relationship depends first on what God says. Then we see what he does. His Word creates, out of nothing, a trust in him. And then we grasp the various life rafts he throws out to us.
