Galatians 5:4 is a very clear passage that reveals the possibility of falling from grace, showing the doctrine of Perseverance of the Saints to be a false doctrine. In this video we will examine Galatians Chapter 5 to see that Paul warns about how born again believers in the church of Galatia had fallen from grace. There were false teachers among them who were deceiving born again believers into believing that they needed to be circumcised in order to be justified. Paul was warning them and telling them that by getting circumcised for justification that they had fallen from grace. He then explained how a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump, meaning that by believing a lie about the need to be circumcised, Christ had become of no effect to them. This entire chapter expresses to born again believers how important it is for them to walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. Any born again believer who walks after the flesh and does the works of the flesh will not inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). But if we continue to abide in Christ and walk after the Spirit, we will produce fruit of the Spirit and learn to crucify the flesh with its affections and lusts (Galatians 5: 22-24). Galatians 6:8 then tells us that if we sow to our flesh we shall reap corruption, but if we sow to the Spirit we shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. To believe that someone can continue a lifestyle of sin and still be saved is contrary to the entire teachings of the apostles in the New Testament. We must continue to abide in Jesus Christ after we are born again or else we will whither as a branch with no sap and be cut off and cast into the fire.
