See our playlist called, "Dealing with "Saved by Works & Baptism", "Church of Christ" with 105 videos at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBD55090718DA6D3D which includes many debates with "Church of Christ" preachers. 06:08 – Debate begins with debate topic & the debaters: Bob L. Ross & Robert Morey representing the Baptists versus "Church of Christ" preachers Bobby Duncan, and Don McWorter.
08:48 – Question to Morey, What is the historic evangelical view of baptism and how it relates to salvation? Baptism is not necessary for salvation. Faith in Jesus is sufficient for salvation. Christ has done it all. However, baptism is very important and all believers should be baptized. If a person refuses baptism after salvation, then there is real doubt about their true conversion. See our video, "IS WATER BAPTISM NECESSARY TO ESCAPE HELL & BE SAVED & ARE YOU "BORN AGAIN" (JOHN 3:3-8) BY IT?" at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYJtMV9qrWg&list=PLBD55090718DA6D3D&index=3&t=3415s .
13:57 – McWorter's response to Morey's answer to the question, What is the historic
evangelical view of baptism and how it relates to salvation? The "Church of Christ" established in the 1820s by Alexander Campbell & others maintain that baptism is a necessary requirement for salvation and that proper baptism must be by immersion & usually by them because they are the "true believers."
19:55 – Duncan continues with his response to the same question. The "Church of Christ" quote verses such as John 3:5 & Acts 2:38 as proof of their position. In so doing, they ignore the numerous Scriptures that teach salvation is by grace through faith (John 5:24; Acts 13:38-39; Galatians 2:16; 3:26; Romans 3:24; 4:5; 5:1; 5:9; 9:30; 10:10; Ephesians 2:8; Phil. 3:9; etc.).
25:17 – Ross adds his answer to the question, What is the historic evangelical view of baptism and how it relates to salvation? Bob also responds to the “Church of Christ” position.
30:32 - McWorter continues with his “Church of Christ” position on salvation, “Bible Baptism”
and Acts 2:38. Acts 2:38 is a favorite verse among many cultic groups, see our video, "RISE OF THE CULTS: WHERE DID ALL THESE STRANGE AMERICAN RELIGIOUS SECTS COME FROM?" by Larry Wessels at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfVTXbFrvh8&list=PLBD55090718DA6D3D&index=5&t=561s .
35:21 – Ross is asked to respond to McWorter's position. Ross gives his position
that baptism is a “Likeness” of salvation. Acts 10:44-48 shows people are saved by the Holy Spirit before they are baptized.
40:42 – Morey is asked the question regarding the meaning of Acts 2:38, and Faith and
Repentance. The Greek word eis is key in Acts 2:38. This is a common Greek word (it is used 1774 times in the New Testament) that is translated many different ways. Noted Greek scholars as A.T. Robertson and J.R. Mantey have maintained that the Greek preposition eis in Acts 2:38 should be translated “because of” or “in view of,” and not “in order to,” or “for the purpose of.”
45:35 – Duncan is asked about the word “for” in Acts 2:38.
51:30 – McWorter give a one minute closing statement.
52:23 – Ross gives his response to McWorter.
53:39 – Morey is asked to continue Ross' response about Acts 2:38. The majority of the evidence is in favor that the best possible definition of the word “for” in this context is either “because of” or “in regard to” and not “in order to get.” Thus Acts 2:38, when interpreted correctly, does not teach that baptism is required for salvation.
54:52 – Duncan is asked about the thief on the cross who was saved apart from works.
1:00:58 – Morey's response about the thief on the cross.
1:05:40 - Ross is asked “Is it easier to be saved under the Old Testament, or the New?
1:10:30 – McWorter is asked to give a response to Bob L. Ross.
1:15:56 – Duncan is asked to give a one minute wrap up about the Old Covenant.
1:16:29 – Morey gives a one minute wrap up about the Old Covenant.
1:17:05 – Ross gives a one minute wrap up about the Old Covenant.
1:18:12 – McWorter gives a one minute wrap up.
1:19:05 – Re-introductions of the four men debating about the “Church of Christ.”
1:20:01 – Ross is asked what is the historical relation of “The Church of Christ” denomination to other denominations.
1:24:39 – Duncan gives a response to Bob L. Ross.
1:29:42 – McWorter is asked about the Restoration Movement. The "Church of Christ" believes they "restored" the gospel on November 18, 1827 after it had been lost for centuries.
1:35:33 – Morey is asked about Faith, Believing and Repentance and any similarities.
1:40:05 – Ross is asked if these “Church of Christ” members are “Campbellites.”
1:42:04 – Closing statements from the four debaters.
