2 Corinthians 4:8-10 ~ We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
HARD PRESSED BUT NOT CRUSHED
** On this side of heaven there is much work to be done. People need to know about the love of God. They need to believe that God loves them personally.
** They need to know that God is willing and able to wipe clean the slate regarding their sins.
** We can tell people about these things because we understand who they are and what they are presently feeling. We understand because we once were also lost, but now we have been saved by the blood of Jesus!
** There is an adversary of God who wants to stop us from carrying the Good News of Jesus Christ. This evil one tries to mess with our minds. He wants us to believe that what God is asking of us is too hard for us to do.
** At times he will bombard us with negativity and thoughts of doubt. We will feel pressure coming from every side. He will tell us, in no uncertain terms, that there is no way out and we are all alone and abandoned.
** This is why we must memorize God’s word. Scripture that we have hidden in our hearts will rise up to soundly defeat the lies of the enemy!
{Dear Father, once when Paul the apostle was “between a rock and hard place” You said to him: “I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city” (Acts 18:10). We can never be where You are not! Thank you for protecting us. We cannot be crushed. We cannot be destroyed. The cross of Your Son Jesus goes before us in victory. You are training us to stand strong and confident (1 Corinthians 15:58). How great is Your love for us! Flood us with compassion so that we can share Jesus without fear in the power of the Spirit. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.}
