“I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”-Jeremiah 17:10
Before David was blessed with a crown by the Lord, the young man went through many trials and tribulations in his life. He fought lions, bears, a giant, was even rejected by his oldest brother. However, the Lord doesn't plan on keeping us at level one. Jeremiah 29:11 states that the Lord knows what kind of plans He has for you. As long as you make the Lord number one in your life, you'll always have the Lord's favor.
David didn't spend his entire life taking care of domesticated animals. He didn't grow old playing the harp to calm Saul whenever a tormenting spirit bothered him. Saul's armor bearer wasn't always going to be David. The Lord had other plans for the youngest of Jesse's sons.
As long as the Lord is your number one priority, you're humble, honest, faithful to our Creator then you will see and receive gifts from our Heavenly Father many wished they could have. Jesus Christ loves you. And He loves blessing His faithful ones with their true calling.
God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?-Numbers 23:19
