Some two thousand years ago a new hope dawned on mankind when a certain child was born. We see through a few key passages how the hope of Christ's birth still affects our lives today as Believers.

1) What do you believe are some of the things that people feel most hopeless about in our world today? What are the people in your social circle most discouraged about and in need of hope?

2) God showed great favor to Mary. How does God show his favor to Christians today? How does this offer us hope? Read: Romans 8:14-17

3) The Jewish people were finding hope in the Messiah because they thought he would free them from the Romans. In what ways can we seek to find hope in the wrong things, or try and use God for the wrong motives? Why is it so important for God to deal with our sins?
4) Luke 1:33 Says that the Messiah will reign over Jacob's descendants forever. Who were Jacob's descendants? Are all Christians included in this? How does this give us hope in our everyday lives?
5) God did the impossible through the virgin Mary. What are some things in your life that may seem impossible where God might be working for His purposes? How can you look to Christ for hope this holiday season in your life? Read: Colossians 3:1-4
