This Sunday the sermon is from 1 Kings 22:29-40; 2 Kings 9:30-37 – “How the Mighty Have Fallen”. “But a certain man drew his bow at random…” – 1 Kings 22:34

Ahab disguised himself from the enemy forces. He shunned his royal robes and donned the armor and breastplate of a foot soldier. But a “randomly” released arrow brought about his promised demise (See 1 Kings 21:19). The mighty but idolatrous king learned the lesson of Hebrews 9:27 – “…it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment.” He desperately needed salvation in Christ and so do we (Romans 3:9-10, 23).
