This Sunday the sermon is from 1 Timothy 6:3-10 – “Godliness, Gain or Greed: How Jesus Gives the Church Everything”. “But godliness with contentment is great gain …” – 1 Timothy 6:6

Our passage goes on to say “for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.” These are sobering words, but they are wholesome words; they are the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ. You may recall that He asked on one occasion, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26) How would you answer Christ’s questions?
