Matthew 8:10-11

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed...
(I want to amaze you today, Jesus)


and said to those following him,
(Jesus, you want others to see what you think is amazing)

“Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
(Jesus, may our faith be what you consider amazing)

I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
(Lord, help me to understand that you want all of us to having this kind of amazing faith, the ones that first knew you, and the ones that will come to know you today.)


Acts 2:1-4 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
