In our Gospel lesson for today, Jesus is praying to the Father for His Apostles, that they be kept firmly in the one True Faith and be guarded against any teaching that is contrary to His true teaching, thus being protected against the dangers and deceptions of the devil.

But what we will also see is that here in His High Priestly Prayer, Jesus is praying for us; He is praying for the Christian!
