The Old Testament presents God as a Warrior, the one who battles against and overcomes His enemies and the enemies of His people to bring about their salvation and deliverance. Two of the places that this idea comes out are in reference to the first Exodus, where the Lord is identified as "a man of war" (Exodus 15:3), and the prophesied New Exodus: “The Lord will go out like a warrior, He will stir His zeal like a man of war. He will shout, indeed, He will raise a war cry. He will prevail against His enemies..." (Isaiah 42:13). The Gospels, especially the Gospel of Mark, identify Jesus as this Divine Warrior.
