The Lord appeared to Abraham sitting at the entrance to his tent..."I will return next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son."...Sarah was past childbearing. Sarah laughed to herself. The Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Shall I bear a child when I am so old?' Is anything too difficult for the Lord?" Sarah denied laughing, saying, "I did not laugh" because she was afraid. The Lord said, "No, but you did laugh."
