Today’s Verse: Luke 10:42 (NKJV)
“But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Martha was busy serving, anxious and distracted, while Mary sat at the feet of Jesus, listening to His words. Both roles mattered, but Jesus made it clear—only one was most important. Time with Him comes first. From that place of stillness, worship, and listening, all our serving finds its true power and meaning.
It’s easy to live as a Martha, rushing through responsibilities, weighed down by demands, even when we think we’re doing it for the Lord. But Jesus calls us to be like Mary: to sit at His feet, to hear His voice, and to let His presence shape our lives before we ever set out to serve.
So today, choose the better part. Take time to sit quietly before Jesus. Listen. Let His Word and Spirit strengthen you. Then rise and serve with joy, knowing what you’ve received from Him cannot be taken away.
