Today’s Verse: Isaiah 40:1–2 (NKJV)
“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” says your God. “Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.”

God commands His people to comfort Israel; not when it’s convenient, not when it’s popular, but always. From the prophets to today, His Word makes it clear that He has not abandoned His covenant with the Jewish people. Though the world rages, though nations and even churches turn against Israel, God remains faithful.

When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we are praying for the coming of the true Messiah, Jesus Christ. There will be no peace on earth until the Prince of Peace returns. And until that day, we are called to stand firm, to comfort God’s people, and to trust that He is fulfilling His promises before our eyes.
