Today’s Verse: Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”

God draws especially close to the broken. When your heart feels crushed, when sorrow weighs heavy, when disappointment or betrayal overwhelms you, He promises His nearness. Brokenness does not disqualify you; it qualifies you for His presence.

A contrite spirit is a repentant one. A heart that admits its weakness, its failure, its need for God. And to such a heart, He brings salvation. He binds up what is shattered and breathes life where there is none.

So today, if you feel crushed, don’t despair. Your broken heart is the very place where He promises to be near. Surrender in repentance, yield your pain to Him, and let His nearness save, heal, and restore your soul.
