Today's Verse: 1 Samuel 17:39–40 (NKJV)
"So David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, 'I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.' So David took them off. Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag."

David refused to wear Saul's armor because it didn't fit him. It wasn't his. God had already equipped David with everything he needed to face Goliath: faith, obedience, and the weapons of a shepherd. Likewise, the battles we face today cannot be fought with the world's armor: human reasoning, political strength, or worldly strategies. Our weapons are spiritual, not carnal, and they are mighty through God for pulling down strongholds.

We cannot fight spiritual battles with worldly logic. The philosophies of this age, even when wrapped in religious language, will always fail. Only the Word of God, prayer, and the power of the Holy Spirit can win the war we are in.

So today, take off the world's armor. Its pride, its opinions, its self-reliance, and put on the full armor of God. Clothe yourself with truth, righteousness, and faith. Stand firm in His strength, and trust that the same God who empowered David will empower you to overcome whatever giant stands before you.
