God cherishes every little thing we do for Him. Treat every task as a job we do for Him, and do it faithfully.
Boaz asked the overseer of his harvesters, “Who does that young woman belong to?” The overseer replied, “She is the Moabite who came back from Moab with Naomi. She said, ‘Please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters.’ She came into the field and has remained here from morning till now, except for a short rest in the shelter.”
So Boaz said to Ruth, “My daughter, listen to me. Don’t go and glean in another field and don’t go away from here. Stay here with the women who work for me. Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the women. I have told the men not to lay a hand on you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.”
(Ruth 2: 5-9)
Gleaning – gathering grains left by reapers was not a fun or desirable job. The gleaners need to collect gradually and bit by bit under the sun. Ruth chose to take on this low, tedious, and repetitive task because that was the way to keep her and Naomi fed. She was determined to take care of her mother-in-law and follow Naomi’s God faithfully. That was what made her stand out among the other harvesters, and they knew her by her name.
God sometimes may also put us in fields where we might have to do tasks like gleaning – tedious and repetitive, while the harvesting reapers on the side seem to be having much more fun and excitement. If gleaning is the responsibility given to you, will you be willing to stay through and finish what God has given to you faithfully? Boaz offered Ruth his promise to let her continue to gather grains at his fields; men will not lay their hands on her; and that she can drink the water in the vessel. Likewise, our Father in Heaven, the One we ought to serve faithfully, also promised us his providence, protection, and a spring of water welling up to eternal life!

A brief introduction of Raisins and Apples:
The idea of Raisins and Apples is from the Bible Song of songs 2:5
"Strengthen me with raisins, refresh me with apples. (Song of Songs 2:5)"
God has given all of us a garden to tend for, and here is a little piece of mine. This is a place where I would like to share my thoughts and things I learned from my daily Bible devotion and studies, and experiences of my journey with Jesus and His family. I hope you’d be able to chill and enjoy some raisins and apples from my little garden. Taste and enjoy the sweetness of His word, and find strength in the Lord.
