The arrival (advent) of Jesus is not merely a holiday. It’s not merely a footnote in history. It is no less than the climax of God’s plan to bring life and hope to a world beset by sin and darkness. This Christmas, we’ll dive into God’s Word to see the first-hand responses to Jesus’ incarnation. May we, with Simeon when he sees the baby Jesus in the temple, respond to Jesus in the only acceptable way: “my eyes have seen your salvation.”
