(Luke 22: 40-46) - Pray that you will not be tempted.

And when he came to that place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
And a stone's throw went from them about; and kneeling down, praying,
Saying, Father, if thou wilt, pass this cup from me; but my will is not done, but yours.
And an angel from heaven appeared to him, who strengthened him.
And, in agony, he prayed more intensely. And his sweat became like great drops of blood that flowed to the ground.
And rising up from prayer, he came to his disciples, and found them sleeping in sorrow.
And he said unto them, Why are you sleeping? Arise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. (Luke 22: 40-46)

People desire SALVATION, and seek the most correct formula to achieve it. Many seek knowledge about what they should and should not do. When they discover that they cannot do it is to let GOD's enemy, the devil, overpower him and tempt him.

How could the devil make someone fall into temptation?
Undoubtedly, when we cannot do something that harms us, but our appetite is very strong about this something, we call it temptation, for example, when we cannot eat candy because we suffer from some illness. And we come across the candy, we know we can't eat. Because it will harm our health, so we call the candy temptation.

So the devil knowing the things we like, the things that attract us, but we know they can do us harm. The devil introduces us and convinces us that we can taste just a little, a little does not hurt. And it is the way the enemy of God uses to separate ourselves from God. Because when we associate ourselves with the things of the world, we disconnect from GOD.
In today's study, we will see what Jesus Christ said, moments before he was arrested, and was condemned. Jesus went out to pray, and his suffering was so cruel, so strong that his sweat turned to drops of saga. And Jesus coming to where the disciples were, said unto them, "Pray that ye be not tempted." And Jesus departed again from them, short distance, here in verse 41, he said about a stone's throw away, of medium strength.

In verse 46, Jesus came back to them and said to them, "Why are you sleeping? Rise up and pray that you will not be tempted." See, dear brethren, in that moment of anguish of the Lord Jesus, the disciples were oblivious to their suffering, and were more attached to their own realities than at the time when Christ was living.

And Jesus knowing that he was going to be killed, and would surely be absent from the disciples, even in distress, tried to direct him, "Pray that ye enter not into temptation." Why did Jesus ask not to be tempted?

Because temptation destroys people, separating them from God.
Dear brothers, JESUS meant that the only way to avoid temptation is through prayer, prayer is what binds us to GOD, and temptation turns us off from GOD. So Jesus goes on saying today, "Pray and watch, lest you fall into temptation."

We of FREEDOM FOR CHRIST'S LOVE understand that the solution to staying connected to Christ, and to God, is through prayer, prayer is the greatest act of FAITH, and prayer keeps us connected to God, and when we are connected. to God, the devil can't make us fall into temptation.

AMEN GLORY TO GOD
