Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are providing you with a special edition recording of our Sunday sermon, which includes an opening prayer, Scripture reading, music, a Bible lesson for our children and a sermon.
In this sermon, we begin a new sermon series entitled "Resurrection Living." Today, we explore when Jesus appeared to two of his followers on the road to Emmaus. Learn how only God can give us the vision we need to see that Jesus is with us.
Questions to Discuss:
1. In Sunday’s sermon, we learned how the two travelers to Emmaus progressed in their relationship with Jesus. Do you see Jesus as a stranger, guest or host? And what would it look like for you to take your next step in your walk with him?
Stranger –Someone who only knows about Jesus, but doesn’t know Jesus personally.
Guest – Someone who only gives Jesus limited access to their lives.
Host – someone who sees Jesus as not only Savior, but also Lord.
2. In Sunday’s sermon, we learned how these two travelers did not realize that Jesus was standing right in front of them. During what times in our lives are we most tempted to feel disappointed by Christ and to doubt his presence?
3. Although Jesus was frustrated with these followers of his, he continued to walk with them. Explain why the grace of God and the patience of Christ are essential to the Christian life.
