In this study, Pastor Kevin continues with God’s rebuke toward the Priests because they were not teaching the people the law of God. One of the consequences of the law not being taught is that the people turn away from God and embrace the idols of the nations around them.

Kevin then shows the background of Malachi’s next rebuke by going to the historical background found in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. These two books record how the leaders and men of Israel were divorcing their Jewish, believing wives and marrying idolatrous women from the surrounding nations.

Then going back to Malachi, the study covers God’s rebuke to the men who had dealt treacherously with their wives. Why does God hate divorce between two believers when the reason for he separation is the man turning to lust and idolatrous women? Because it is hateful toward the believing wife, brings bloodshed to the family and corrupts the children.

Kevin then equates this rebuke to the current porn plague that exists in our culture today, both in and outside of the church, and then gives practical ways to avoid this curse.
