Once we get to December, it seems that Christmas has already arrived at least from the standpoint of the commercial world. In many congregations, December’s arrival heralds the beginning of the Advent season, a time for focusing on the events related to Christ’s birth. Special programs begin to take shape. It is appropriate that we emphasize this world-changing event. However, Jesus would fulfill His purpose by dying (Expositor and Illuminator Union Gospel Press, Winter Quarter 2021).
