Morning Verses With Mike
I'm doing daily Bible verse readings to share, grow, and impact others for good!

Today I begin with a prayer, and then on to the morning verse!

Matthew 6:7-8 - '“When you pray, don’t babble on and on as the Gentiles do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again. Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!'

Prayers aren’t meant to just be recited, they aren’t thoughtless representations. They aren’t meant to be on autopilot. You know, even not long ago, I questioned what I would say. How would I pray? What should I say if I am having that conversation every day? What about if something was REALLY important.

And then I realized, they are all conversations with God. They are all important, no matter what size, or what impact we think a prayer should have - they all are heard. God already knows, sometimes he helps to guide you and steer you in the conversation because it is important that he help you discover it for yourself too, but he already knows.

A prayer is not ever an attempt to change the mind, or the will of God. It is an act of absolute confidence and assurance of purpose for what God has yet come.
