Sermon Summary

The role of motherhood comes in may different shapes and forms, but regardless of the specific circumstances, the concept of motherhood has been designed by God for some specific purposes. As we look through the Bible, we see many examples of how to fulfil this role. Many of these examples are looked at frequently on Mother's Day. One that is perhaps not examined as much is the mother of James and John, two of Jesus' inner circle of disciples.

We don't know her name. We don't know very much about her. Much of what we do know appears to be bold and brash as she seeks positions of authority in Jesus' Kingdom. But as we look a little closer, we can see some character traits that help set a good patter of motherhood for us to follow.
