"But Judah said, 'The strength of the burden-bearers is failing, and there is much rubbish; we are not able to work on the wall.' And our enemies said, 'They will not know or see till we come into the midst of them and kill them and stop the work.' Christ calls his people to a life of spiritual war and conflict. "Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." [I Timothy 6:12] "For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of the affliction we experienced in Asia; for we were so utterly, unbearably crushed that we despaired of life itself. Why, we felt that we had received the sentence of death; but that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead" [II Corinthians 1:8-9]
