ur God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

2 Chronicles 20: 1-4, 12-15

1After this, the Moabites and Ammonites with some of the Meunites came to wage war against Jehoshaphat. 2 Some people came and told Jehoshaphat, “A vast army is coming against you from Edom, from the other side of the Dead Sea. It is already in Hazezon Tamar” (that is, En Gedi). 3 Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. 4 The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him.
12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 13 All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord. 14 Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly. 15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Today’s title is “Our Eyes Are On You”.

Christians believe that all the things that they have come from God. They believe that they are just stewards of what God has given them. Furthermore, they even believe that all that they do are for God. That is exactly what the Bible says. “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God (1st Corinthian 10:31). But it is not easy to do it in reality. For the most part of our life, when we do something, it is not easy to tell whether we do it for ourselves or for God. But what about God? God is not like us. He looks into our hearts. He knows exactly whether we work for Him or for ourselves. Obviously, He cares more when we work and fight for Him. When we work for Him, It becomes His work. When we fight for Him, it becomes His fight. When it becomes His fight, the victory is guaranteed. So how can we make our fight His fight? WE see a good example of it in today’s passage. Jehoshaphat Ns his people are facing an invasion from a vast united army of Moabites, Ammonites, and some of Meunites. They were speedily marching against Jerusalem. They had no power to face the vast army, They did not know what to do. But they knew one thing. They could turn to God quickly and wholeheartedly. Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah. Then the king cried out to God in prayer, “Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you”. “Our eyes are all on you” wasn’t just prayer. Indeed all of their eyes were on God. The people of Judah came together to seek help from the Lord; indeed, they came from every town in Judah to seek him. All the men of Judah, with their wives and children and little ones, stood there before the Lord. When their eyes were all on God as such, God’s assurance came to them, saying “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but Mine.” The battle ended then and there. What is your fight at this time? How are you fighting it? Now we know how to become victorious in our fights? We can win the battle when our fight becomes His fight. Our fight becomes His fight when all of our eyes are on God, Indeed, whether we eat or drink, whatever we do, we can make our life God’s fight if we kook to God with all of our eyes. Are you fighting in such a victorious way?
