Jesus was sentenced to crucifixion while Barabbas, a criminal that had been thrown into prison for an insurrection and murder, was released. It happened with Pilate being swayed by angry mobs who wanted Jesus dead. It was not that God didn’t know about what was happening. He allowed it actually, and it was for US. God loves you.
