Call to Worship (Adapted from 1 Chronicles 16)

One: Sing to the LORD, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day.
All: Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples
One: For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods
Invocation

*Hymn 34 “The God of Abraham Praise”

*Call to Confession Nathan Titus, Pastoral Intern
Brothers and Sisters, the Apostle Paul in the book of Romans teaches us that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death. Our old selves were crucified with him, so that we might be slaves to sin no more. Therefore, trusting in God’s grace, let us confess our sins.

*Prayer of Confession
Eternal God, in whom we live and move and have our being, whose face is hidden from us by our sins, and whose mercy we forget in the blindness of our hearts: cleanse us from all our offenses, and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires, that with reverent and humble hearts we may draw near to you, confessing our faults, confiding in your grace, and finding in you our refuge and strength; through Jesus Christ, Amen.

*Words of Assurance

*The Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

* Confession of Faith (Apostle’s Creed)
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried, he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, does not refer to the Roman Catholic Church; but to the true Christian church of all times and all places

Intercessory Prayer and Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
